About Dr. Jose Barrera

Dr. Barrera began started his career as a medical surgeon who specialized in facial reconstructive surgery, which restored craniofacial and traumatic deformities. He worked all over the world in the military as an active-duty surgeon and made the natural transition to aesthetics as Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the San Antonio Military Medical Center before transitioning into private practice.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Barrera has served as both a board examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As one of four Fellowship Directors in Texas, he is amongst the most sought-after Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons in San Antonio, recognized for his passion for constantly improving his qualifications, and continuing his research in finding new and innovative ways to provide quality care to his patients.
