After spending almost 29 years serving as a physician in the U.S. Army, Maureen M. Petersen, MD is putting away her combat boots and taking the next step in her career. She is excited to announce the launch of her new business, Maureen Michele MD Coaching, which focuses on providing life coaching to parents of chronically ill children. Through parenting her daughter who is a cancer-survivor and Type 1 diabetic, Dr. Petersen has firsthand experience with the challenges and difficulties that come with being a parent of a child with long-term health issues. She understands the emotional toll that this can take on parents and the need for support and guidance.

As a general pediatrician and allergist/immunologist, Dr. Petersen has extensive experience caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic health conditions. She is also an accomplished life coach, having helped numerous clients to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles in their personal and professional lives.

Dr. Petersen’s coaching business offers practical advice and strategies to parents who find it challenging to balance their personal lives with their child’s long-term illness, inspired by the practical guidance and strategies outlined in her bestselling book “Reclaiming Life: A Guide for Parents of Chronically Ill Children.” The support offered by Dr. Petersen allows parents to stop struggling alone. Her coaching approach is based on a combination of empathy, understanding, and practical advice. She is committed to helping parents of chronically ill children regain control of their lives and find fulfillment.

In addition to her medical and coaching credentials, Dr. Petersen is also a military veteran who has been dedicated to teaching young military physicians the art of medicine. As she transitions to coaching parents, Dr. Petersen is excited to leverage her expertise to empower and guide them in their journey.
