Despite Dismal Results, Small Business Owners are Surprisingly Optimistic
November 23, 2020 – Despite months of uncertainty and shutdowns, a new survey shows that small business owners are surprisingly upbeat about the future of their business. Cathy Demers, Founder of BusinessSuccess.com, reached out to small business owners to ask them what they thought about their prospects in the near future with 45% of respondents saying that their business results were poor or dismal. The surprising part is that 94% of small businesses who responded in the survey, said that they would still own their business, even if they had enough money in their bank account to do whatever they want.
According to the survey, the love for what they do was the common theme among business owners who said that they will continue to run their existing business. They are determined to make a significant contribution to the lives of others and are fully committed to pursuing their dreams, no matter how many setbacks they encounter along the way. Many said they wouldn’t quit even if someone paid them to.
“It’s well known that many small business owners are struggling right now,” says Cathy Demers. “But when I saw how many would stick with their current business, even if they didn’t have to, my jaw dropped!”
Demers was quite surprised with the outlook of small business owners, saying, “It seems that small business owners think the economic turnaround is going to happen very quickly, or is it that they are just an optimistic bunch?”
The study also found that 26% of small business owners are investing in their and their team’s education now, while 12% of respondents said that they have increased spending on marketing and advertising.
